Every so often there comes along an album that, while fully aware of its mind blowing potential well ahead of its arrival based solely on the the historical track record of the band in question, leaves you in a state of near shock when you realize the level of greatness that has been achieved by the musicians and the producer(s) behind its creation. For me, this is one of those moments and I have a feeling it will likely be the same for you which is why I’ll be sharing this particular track from the Silversun Pickups May 8th release “Neck of the Woods” in multiple formats and from multiple locations. You absolutely have to experience this track at which point you’ll likely find yourself in need of at least one of the following links where you’ll find access to the remaining 10 tracks, all just as mind blowing, all in their very own and very different way.

To rid the world of Osama bin Laden, Anwar al-Awlaki and Moammar Qaddafi within six months: if Obama were a Republican, he’d be on Mount Rushmore by now.

Yeah, I know you feel that it’s me who’s going to hell, but whatever.

Passive

Dead as dead can be
My doctor tells me
But I just can’t believe him
Ever the optimistic one
I’m sure of your ability
To become my perfect enemy

Wake up and face me
Don’t play dead ‘cause maybe
Someday I will walk away and say
You disappoint me
Maybe you’re better off this way

Leaning over you here
Cold and catatonic
I catch a brief reflection
Of what you could and might have been
It’s your RIGHT and your ability
To become my perfect enemy

Wake up
(Why can’t you?)
And face me
(Come on now)
Don’t play dead
(Don’t play dead)
‘Cause maybe
(Because maybe)
Someday
(Someday)
I will walk away and say
You disappoint me
Maybe you’re better off this way

Maybe you’re better off this way (×4)
You’re better off this (×2)
Maybe you’re better off…

Wake up
(Why can’t you?)
And face me
(Come on now)
Don’t play dead
(Don’t play dead)
‘Cause maybe
(Because maybe)
Someday
(Someday)
I will walk away and say
You fucking disappoint me
Maybe you’re better off this way!

Go ahead and play dead
(GO!)
I know that you can hear this
(GO!)
Go ahead and play dead
(GO!)

Why can’t you turn and face me?
(WAKE UP!)
Why can’t you turn against me?
(WAKE UP!)
Why can’t you turn against me?
(WAKE UP!)
Why can’t you turn against me?
(GO!)
You fucking disappoint me

Passive-aggressive bullshit… (×12)

I first experienced Rodney Mullen skate live when in 1985 he came to Bellevue Square (Seattle area) for a demo during his Powell Peralta days.  That was 26 years ago and yet I still find myself experiencing the same level of awe and fascination at his level of skill and precision that has yet to meet it’s match (though there’s arguably a few modern day street rats out there who are definitely pushing the limits of both time and space…  what a wonderful sport! :-))

Rodney Mullen Skate Vid - Blackalicious Sky Is Falling (by bigcurl)

Reminds me of Jack White’s opening scene to “It Might Get Loud” when, after nailing a makeshift guitar bridge (AKA the lopped off end of a 2x4) to a makeshift guitar neck (likely the non-lopped off 2x4 the bridge once called home), wiring up an electric pickup and stretching across the bridge and neck what may have been an old guitar string but was just as likely a piece of bailing wire, he began blasting out a riff that I doubt many of in this world would be capable of with even if given access to the finest instruments and allowed years to practice, proclaiming to the camera: “Who says you need a guitar?”

Unbelievable.

THE USER SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE THE ONES TO BLAME.

SIMPLE SOLUTION

When a new browser comes out, check it and make sure your css is up to date with it and then MAKE USERS feel bad for not upgrading their browser like they should. They should understand that if the site does not look pretty it is because THEIR COMPUTER AND BROWSER ARE TOO OLD. And they need to upgrade. THE USER SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE THE ONES TO BLAME.

Dear Large Hadron Collider, you are dead to me. All I wanted for my birthday was a black hole so that I could get out of work and you failed me again on yet another in a long stream of promises. It’s not me, it’s you. So, please stop calling to apologize. I have to go now, I’m late for work.
